This section provides information that will help you manage and customize delivery status notification (DSN) and quota messages by using the Exchange Management Shell in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.
DSNs notify the Exchange 2007 administrator or e-mail sender of the status of a particular e-mail message. DSNs are a critical part of troubleshooting e-mail connectivity issues between local Exchange recipients and issues between the local Exchange server and remote e-mail servers on the Internet.
Quota messages are issued to users whose mailbox or public folder has reached specific warning, prohibit send, or prohibit receive quotas. These quota messages typically provide guidance to the user so he or she can resolve the issue.
You can use the following Exchange Management Shell cmdlets to modify preconfigured DSN and quota messages and to create, modify, or delete customized DSN or quota messages:
