Use the Select User or Group dialog box to select security principals to which you want to grant permission.

Important

By default, the dialog box displays all users and security groups that are in the current recipient scope that is specified in the Recipient Configuration node. To learn more about the recipient scope and its impact on the recipient work center, see Understanding Recipient Scope.

In addition to the users and security groups with the recipient scope, the Select User or Group dialog box also displays the well-known security principals in the forest. Well-known security principals are a special category of authenticated objects in the Active Directory directory service. They represent special predefined entities in Active Directory. The following are examples of most commonly used well-known security principals: Everyone, Authenticated Users, System, Self, and Creator Owner.

    Use this text box to search for users and groups whose name, alias, or e-mail address contains the specified text.
  • Find Now
    Click this button to start the search.
  • Clear
    Click this button to clear the list of recipients that are listed in the result pane.
