Event Sources in a Distributed Environment

In a distributed server environment, knowing what events are logged on a given computer can help when sorting through event data gathered in the logs.

For example, a computer running only Telephony Application Services (TAS) does not gather events generated by Speech Engine Services (SES), and vice versa.

A computer running TAS gathers events from the following sources:

  • TAS

  • telephony interface manager (TIM)

  • SALT Application

  • Speech Controls

The computer running SES gathers only those events where SES is the event source.
