Optimizing Telephony Application Services

Optimizing Telephony Application Services

Use the Telephony Services Optimization tab of the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in for Microsoft Speech Server (MSS) to optimize Telephony Application Services (TAS). Be sure to open the MMC snap-in on the computer that is running TAS.

For instructions on how to open the MMC snap-in for MSS, see MMC Administration Overview.

To define TAS server optimization settings

  1. In Maximum Number of Calls Before Recycling, set the maximum number of calls that the application will answer before being recycled. (Corresponds to the RecycleCallLimit WMI property.)

  2. In Scheduled Recycle Time, set the time of day to perform a recycling of the TAS worker process. (Corresponds to the ScheduleRecycle WMI property.)

  3. In Memory Limit, set the amount (in megabytes) of computer memory to be allocated to TAS. (Corresponds to the LoadMemoryLimit WMI property.)

  4. In Worker Memory Limit, set the number of megabytes of memory allocated to TAS. (Corresponds to the ProcessMemoryLimit WMI property.)

  5. In Start page, set the number of seconds to wait after: Start page execution if no SMEX message is received from the SALT application; or, phone call completion if the SALT application fails to exit, or to begin handling a new call. In the event of either of these timeouts occurring, TAS aborts the application and logs an error. (Corresponds to the InactiveTimeout WMI property.)

  6. In Script, set the number of seconds that TAS allows for a script event to execute before disconnecting active calls. (Corresponds to the ScriptTimeout WMI property.)

  7. In Shutdown, set the number of seconds that elapses after pausing TAS, or after an application domain or process recycle, before disconnecting active calls. (Corresponds to the ShutdownTimeout WMI property.)
