Installing Required Microsoft Updates

Microsoft Updates are required prior to installing Microsoft Speech Server (MSS). The Prerequisites screen of the Speech Server Setup wizard will detect the presence of the required Microsoft Updates and whether an existing installation is the correct version required by MSS.

If an installation of one or more Microsoft Updates is not found, or an incorrect version is found, appears on the Prerequisites screen next to the Microsoft Updates listing. When the link in the listing is clicked, a dialog box will list the required updates with an installation prompt. When OK is clicked on this dialog box, Setup will launch the individual Microsoft Update installers.

If the required versions of the Microsoft Updates are found, appears on the Prerequisites page next to the Microsoft Updates listing. No additional action is required for this prerequisite; therefore, there is no link in the listing.

Remark

A list of required Microsoft Updates can be found in the Microsoft Speech Server release notes. Certain updates may require rebooting the computer to complete the installation.
