Use the Mailbox Settings page to configure the mailbox settings, such as the alias and the storage location for the mailbox user. You can also assign messaging records management (MRM) and Exchange ActiveSync policies to the mailbox.

Use this page to configure the following mailbox settings.

  • Alias
    Use this text box to type the alias of the user. By default, the alias is automatically populated based on the User logon name (User Principal Name) of the user. If the user logon name contains any characters that are not valid for the alias field, they will be replaced by underscore characters (_).

    The alias cannot exceed 64 characters and must be unique in the forest.

  • Server
    Use this list to select the server that will host the new mailbox.

    Note

    The list displays only servers in your Exchange organization that have the Mailbox server role installed.

  • Storage group
    Use this list to select the storage group that will contain the new mailbox.

    Note

    You must select a storage group that contains at least one mailbox database.

  • Mailbox database
    Use this list to select the mailbox database that will contain the new mailbox.
  • Managed folder mailbox policy
    Select this check box to assign a managed folder mailbox policy to the mailbox.

    When you select this check box, the Browse button is enabled. Click Browse to select a policy from a list of available managed folder mailbox policies.

  • Exchange ActiveSync mailbox policy
    Select this check box to assign an Exchange ActiveSync policy to the mailbox.

    When you select this check box, the Browse button is enabled. Click Browse to select a policy from a list of available Exchange ActiveSync policies.
