How to Customize Your Views

The following methods are available for tailoring your Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) Administrator Console views to your own needs:

The following procedures provide two ways to change the columns that are displayed in a view and the order in which the columns appear. Any changes that you make to the console display remain the next time that you open the console.

To select columns for a view by using Select Columns

  1. Display the view that you want to modify.

  2. On the toolbar, click Select Columns.

  3. In the Select Columns dialog box, select each property that you want to add to the results display. To remove a column, clear the check box for the property.

  4. To change the order of the columns, highlight a column header and click Move Up or Move Down.

To select columns for a view from the main console

  1. Display the view that you want to modify.

  2. Right-click anywhere in the column headers in the results pane to drop down a list of properties to choose from. To add a column to the results display, select the property. To remove a column, clear the check box for a property.

  3. To change the order the column in the results display, drag the column header left or right in the header row to where you want the column.

  4. To group the displayed objects by the new column, select the property in the Group by box.

  5. To sort the objects by the values in a different column, click the column header.
