About the Server Virtualization Management Pack

The Server Virtualization Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007 contains all of the functionality provided by the Virtual Server Management Pack for Operations Manager 2005 (MOM), plus new functionality that enables you to monitor and report on your entire virtualized environment.

The Server Virtualization Management Pack can be used in environments that are running Virtual Server only, as well as in environments running Virtual Server and System Center Virtual Machine Manager.

This new Management Pack also monitors the health and performance of Virtual Machine Manager components, including your library servers, virtual machine self-service Web servers, the Virtual Machine Manager server, the VMM database server, and your hosts and virtual machines.

This Management Pack includes five reports that can be opened from Reporting view in the Virtual Machine Manager Administrator Console. For information about the reports, see Report Descriptions.

For more information about the Management Pack, including installation instructions, see the Server Virtualization Management Pack Guide. You can download the guide along with the Server Virtualization Management Pack from the Management Pack Catalog Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=86411).
