How to Set the Agent Password for a Host on a Perimeter Network

To access virtual machine hosts on a perimeter network, Virtual Machine Manager uses a local agent service account that the Agent Setup Wizard creates automatically when you install an agent on the host.

The Agent Setup Wizard also automatically creates the credentials for the local agent service account. You cannot change the credentials for the agent service account during setup; however, you can set the password after you have added the host.

To set the agent password for a host on a perimeter network

  1. In Hosts view, navigate to the host group that contains the host and then, in the results pane, double-click the host.

  2. Click the Options tab.

  3. In the Perimeter network host options area, type the updated password for the local agent service account on the host, retype it to confirm the password, and then click OK.
