To monitor specific sessions

  1. In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click Monitoring.

  2. In the details pane, click the Sessions tab.

  3. On the Tasks tab, click Edit Filter.

  4. In Filter by, select one of the following options:

    • Activation. Used to filter only for sessions activated since the specified time.
    • Application Name. Used to filter based on an application name.
    • Client Host Name, Client IP, or Client Username. Used to filter for sessions from specific clients.
    • Session Type. Used to filter for sessions from specific types of clients: Firewall client, SecureNAT, VPN client, VPN site-to-site, or Web proxy.
    • Server Name. Used to filter based on a server name.
    • Source Network. Used to filter for sessions from specific source networks.
  5. In Condition and Value, specify the appropriate condition, and then click Add to List.

  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add more conditions to the filter. Then, click Start Query.

Note

To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Management.
For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand Array_Name, and then click Monitoring.
For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Server_Name, and then click Monitoring.

Important

By default, all sessions are listed in the Sessions details pane.
The Sessions viewer displays only data for sessions that match all the expressions included in the filter. The filter expressions are combined using the logical AND operator.
By default, the Application Name and Server Name columns are not displayed in the Sessions details pane. To display these columns, right-click the column headings in the details pane and then select the appropriate column.
To remove an expression from the filter list, click Edit Filter. Then, select the expression and click Remove.
To edit an expression in the filter list, click Edit Filter. Then, select the expression, perform the desired edits, and then click Update.
