To configure protocols for an access rule

  1. In the console tree of ISA Server Management:

    • For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, for a specific enterprise policy, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Enterprise, expand Enterprise Policies, and then click Enterprise_Policy.
    • For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, for array-level firewall policy, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand Array_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.
    • For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Server_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.
  2. In the details pane, click the applicable rule.

  3. On the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Rule.

  4. On the Protocols tab, do one of the following:

    • If the rule applies to all protocols, even those not explicitly defined by ISA Server, click All outbound traffic.
    • If the rule applies only to specific protocols, click Selected protocols.
    • If the rule applies to all IP traffic except specific protocols, click All outbound traffic except selected.
  5. If you clicked Selected protocols or All outbound traffic except selected, click Add, and then select one or more protocols.

  6. (Optional) To modify the parameters of individual protocols, select the desired protocol, and then click Edit. Click the Parameters tab, and then configure the connections and application filters associated with the protocol.

  7. In the details pane, click Apply.

Note

To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Management.

Important

After you click Apply in the details pane, the policy is updated. The new policy applies only to new connections.
