FW_H_OverridePort

To override default ports for server publishing rules

  1. In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click Firewall Policy.

  2. In the details pane, click the applicable rule.

  3. On the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Rule.

  4. On the Traffic tab, click Ports.

  5. In Firewall Ports, select one of the following:

    • Publish using the default port defined in the protocol definition. When you select this option, ISA Server will accept incoming client requests on the default port.
    • Publish on this port instead of the default port. When you select this option, ISA Server will accept incoming client requests on a port other than the default port. If an alternate port is selected, ISA Server receives client requests for the published service on the nonstandard port, and then forwards requests to the designated port on the published server.
  6. In Published Server Ports, select one of the following:

    • Send requests to the default port on the published server. When you select this option, ISA Server will accept requests for the published service on the default port as indicated in the protocol definition.
    • Send requests to this port on the published server. When you select this option, ISA Server will accept requests for the published service on a port other than the default port.
  7. In Source Ports, select one of the following:

    • Allow traffic from any allowed source port. When you select this option, ISA Server will accept requests from any port on allowed client computers.
    • Limit access to traffic from this range of source ports. When you select this option, ISA Server will accept requests only from the ports that you specify.

Note

To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Management.
For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand Array_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.
For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Server_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.

Important

The port override options enable you to override the default ports used to connect to the published server.
When you limit access to traffic from a specific range of source ports, the specified range must belong to the clients specified in the allowed traffic sources for this rule.
After you click Apply in the details pane, the policy is updated. The new policy applies only to new connections.
