To configure network entities for a cache rule

  1. In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click Cache.

  2. In the details pane, click the Cache Rules tab, and then select the applicable cache rule.

  3. On the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Rule.

  4. On the To tab, do the following:

    • To apply the rule to specific network entities, click the upper Add button, and then select the network entities to which the rule should be applied.
    • To specify network entities to which the rule should not be applied, click the lower Add button, and then select the network entities to which the rule should not be applied.

Note

To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Management.
For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand Array_Name, expand Configuration and then click Cache.
For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Server_Name, expand Configuration and then click Cache.

Important

The rule will never be applied to network objects in the Exceptions list, even if the network object is also included in the This rule applies to content requested from these destinations list.
