Installing and configuring the Enterprise Manager components

Once you have identified the target down-level Client Security deployments and installed the Enterprise Manager Client Security instance on the target Enterprise Manager server, you must install the Enterprise Manager components on the down-level Client Security deployments and the Enterprise Manager server.
Before installing the Enterprise Manager components on the down-level servers and the Enterprise Manager server, verify you have completed the following.

All down-level Client Security deployments have been updated with the most recent Client Security updates. These updates are also incorporated into Client Security Service Pack 1; if you have installed Service Pack 1 or later, you do not need to install the individual updates. |

The Enterprise Manager server has been updated with the most recent Client Security updates, including the most recent versions of Microsoft Knowledge Base article 940060 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=99957), Microsoft Knowledge Base article 943846 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=110594), and Microsoft Knowledge Base article 942262 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=99958). These updates are also incorporated into Client Security Service Pack 1; if you have installed Service Pack 1 or later, you do not need to install the individual updates. |

You have backed up the down-level Client Security collection and reporting databases. |

The operating system on both the down-level servers and the Enterprise Manager server is up-to-date. |

You must download the Enterprise Manager components from the following location: FCSEnterpriseManager.msi (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=98850).
After you have installed the Enterprise Manager component, the Enterprise Manager down-level installer (FCSEnterpriseManagerDLS.msi) can be found in the Client Security installation directory (by default C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\Server).
