E-Mail Classification

Applies to: Office 365 for professionals and small businesses, Office 365 for enterprises, Microsoft Exchange, Live@edu

The e-mail classification feature helps system administrators control the delivery of sensitive information through e-mail.

How E-Mail Classification Works

When you apply a classification to a message, the server checks the message and handles it based on rules your system administrator has set. An information banner is applied to the message. And the rules may force a message to travel through a channel specified by your administrator. If such a channel isn't available, the message may be returned to you as undeliverable or delivery of the message may be restricted to a specific set of addresses in your organization.
