Light version of Outlook Web App

Outlook Web App isn't the only way to access your Exchange mailbox. You can also access your mailbox from Outlook, from a mobile phone that supports Exchange ActiveSync, and from any e-mail program that supports the POP or IMAP protocols. For more information, see E-Mail Setup.

What else do I need to know?

  • If you're using a Web browser that's fully supported, you can switch from the light version of Outlook Web App to the standard version of Outlook Web App. There are two ways to switch between the light and standard versions of Outlook Web App. After you've switched, you must sign out and sign back in for the change to take effect. For more information about supported Web browsers, see Supported Browsers for Outlook Web App and Exchange Online.
    • When you sign in, look for Use the light version of Outlook Web App on the sign-in page. If it is there, and the check box is selected, click to clear the check box and switch to the standard version of Outlook Web App.

    • After you've signed in, click Options > Accessibility and clear the Use the blind and low vision experience check box.

      Note

These two settings are independent of each other. If you're using a supported Web browser and see the light version of Outlook Web App, you may have to look at both the sign-in page and the Options page to find the check box to clear.
