The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers running Exchange 2010 and generates this alert when the events specified in the following Details table are logged.

Rule Name

The Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions due to memory consumption higher than the configured threshold.

Explanation

This Warning event occurs if the amount of memory that is used by the computer is more than the threshold amount that has been configured for the Exchange Transport service. When this occurs, the Exchange Transport service rejects message submissions.

User Action

To resolve this issue, complete use or more of the following methods:

  • Restart the Transport service to continue normal operation.

  • Verify that the system page file is set correctly. The page file size minimum and maximum values must be set to physical RAM plus 10 MB.
