Steps to Model Exchange Server Clustering

At this stage of the Exchange Server 2007 scenario for System Center Capacity Planner 2007, you add or modify a server role to define the clustering type that is used by Exchange Server. Capacity Planner models the following clustering types for the Mailbox server role:

  • cluster continuous replication (CCR)
  • single copy cluster (SCC)
  • standby continuous replication (SCR)

To model clustering types

  1. In the Model Editor, open the site that contains the Mailbox server role you want to define clustering for.

  2. Add a new server and connect it to the LAN.

  3. Click the server, and then click Edit server role.

  4. Choose a Passive Node Mailbox type and specify the storage configuration.

  5. Click the active server, and then click Edit server role.

  6. In the Server role list, click Mailbox, click the type of clustering that is used by the server from the Subrole list, specify the storage configuration mapping files to disk volumes, and then click OK.
