Disk Is Overloaded

The following validation message can appear when a disk is overloaded and cannot handle the load demand of the capacity model:

Disk <DiskSpindleName> in group <DiskGroupName> in array <DiskArrayName> attached to (<SANName> or <ServerName>) in <OfficeName> is overloaded.

Typically, this adjustment message appears when you have added additional load to the capacity model —for example, by adding additional users—that overloads the disk. When this message appears, simulation of the device cannot continue.

To make the required adjustments, use one or more of the following procedures:

• To add a disk array in the Hardware Editor, in the How to Add a Device in the Hardware Editor topic, to add additional disks to the disk group and then add the disk array to the affected server
• To add a disk hardware device in the Hardware Editor, in the How to Add a Device in the Hardware Editor topic, to replace the overloaded disk and then add the disk to the affected server
• One or all of the procedures, in the How to Modify a Computer or Device Configuration in the Hardware Editor topic, to reduce the load on the device by adding devices of the same type
• To edit a client profile in the Model Editor, in the How to Add, Edit, or Delete a Client Profile in the Model Editor topic, to reduce the load on the device by changing the usage parameter
• To move a software component between servers, in the How to Move A Server Role Between Servers topic, to reduce the load on the device by redirecting load to other servers
