To configure DPM, open DPM Administrator Console:

  1. Log on to the DPM server under a domain user account that is a member of the local administrators or backup operators group.

  2. On the Start menu, click All Programs, and then click Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2006.

    If available, double-click the Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2006 icon on the desktop.

    Note

    The first time that you open the console, DPM Help opens to the “Getting started” topics. These topics explain how to perform the same configuration tasks described in this chapter.
