Granting Appropriate User Privileges

Before you begin a DPM deployment, verify that appropriate users have been granted required privileges for performing the various deployment tasks. Table 2.7 shows the user privileges that are required to perform the major tasks associated with a DPM deployment.

Although a local administrator can install DPM, most configuration tasks require domain user privileges. We recommend installing DPM using a domain account that is a member of the local administrators group.

Administrator or backup operator account on the DPM server

Extending the Active Directory schema to enable end-user recovery
