How to publish existing DPM alerts to MOM

Published : April 8, 2005 | Updated : August 17, 2005

The Alert Publishing option is only used if you have chosen to centrally monitor your Data Protection Manager (DPM) servers in Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (MOM). The option is used immediately after you deploy the DPM Management Pack for MOM, or after you restore the DPM database from a backup, to synchronize the MOM display with the current state on the DPM server.

This option publishes all existing actionable DPM alerts—those that might require a user action—to the DPM Alerts event log. The MOM agent that is installed on the DPM server publishes the alerts in the DPM Alerts event log to MOM and continues to update the MOM display as new alerts are generated.

To publish existing DPM alerts to MOM

  1. In DPM Administrator Console, click Options on the Action menu.

  2. In the Options dialog box, on the Alert Publishing tab, click Publish Active Alerts.

For information about the DPM Management Pack, see the DPM Management Pack Guide on the MOM 2005 Product Documentation Web site.
