How to rename a protection group

You can rename a protection group if you choose to do so. Changing the name of a protection group has no impact on your protection configuration.

To rename a protection group

  1. In DPM Administrator Console, click Protection on the navigation bar.

  2. In the Display pane, select the protection group that you want to rename.

  3. In the Actions pane, click Rename.

    On the Action menu, click Rename

    - Or –

    Right-click the protection group and then click Rename.

  4. In the Specify a new name for the protection group box, type a unique, meaningful name for the protection group. Use any combination of alphanumeric characters, not to exceed 64 characters including spaces.

    The name change takes effect immediately.
