Details

When a synchronization job begins after you enable or disable end-user recovery, the following alert is displayed:

Failed to update permissions used for end user recovery on the specified server. Permissions update failed for the following reason: DPM cannot browse the specified server because the host is unreachable. For more information, open DPM Administrator Console and select the Monitoring task area.

  1. Verify connectivity between the file server and DPM server. For more information, see “Checking Name Resolution” and “Identifying DNS Errors,” in the Standard Procedures section of this chapter.

  2. Synchronize the replicas for all protected volumes on the specified server.

You see the following error message when you try to configure end-user recovery:

Active Directory could not be configured because the DPM computer with the specified name could not be found.

  1. On the DPM server, ping the domain controller to verify connectivity.

  2. Verify that there are no active alerts displayed in DPM Administrator Console.
