SQL Server Reporting supports a number of different report authoring tools. For the purpose of this discussion, only the report designer that is included as a component of SQL Server Reporting Services, and which requires Visual Studio .NET 2003, will be used. However, the concepts described in this section apply equally to other report authoring tools.
