Using ACL Reset Tool for Tasks Unrelated to Backup or Recovery

The ACL Reset tool, which is included on the SMS 2003 product CD, is designed to be used for SMS site backup and recovery tasks only. Using the ACL Reset tool for any other purpose is not supported because permissions can be removed on accounts. This can result in some SMS features not working correctly.

When you need to conduct a backup and recovery, you should only use the ACL Reset tool as instructed by the SMS Recovery Expert. By doing so, the correct ACL settings are applied.
