The Virtual Server 2005 R2 Management Pack provides the views described in Table 6.

View Type

Description

Alerts

View Error, Critical Error, and Service Unavailable alerts from Virtual Server; alerts relating to health state from the Virtual Server 2005 R2 Management Pack; and MOM alerts for Virtual Server and virtual machines.

State

View state for physical computers running the Virtual Server service (displayed by the Virtual Server role) and the virtual machines that they host (displayed by the Virtual Machines role). For more information about states associated with these two roles, see State Monitoring Definitions in the Virtual Server 2005 R2 Management Pack.

Events

View task status events for virtual machines and virtual machine hosts.

Performance

View the following performance measures for virtual machines:

  • CPU Utilization

  • Disk Space Used (Bytes)

  • RAM Used (Bytes)

Computers and Groups

View attributes, rules groups, computer groups, and role detail for computers that have the Virtual Server role (virtual machine hosts) and the Virtual Machines role (virtual machines).

Diagram

(New in R2) View a diagram of virtual machines on each virtual machine host. To set the console scope for this view, on the toolbar of the MOM Operator console, in the Group field, select Microsoft Virtual Server 2005.
