An increase in status message processing is inevitable when you use the software update inventory tools to deploy software updates, because these tools generate status messages to track inventory and installation information. However, the size of the processing increase can be affected by your scheduling and configuration choices:

  • The more frequently you schedule the inventory and installation cycles, the larger the increase in volume of status messages.

  • If status message processing is a concern, then you can create status filter rules to eliminate the messages before they are replicated to the central site server.
