The Web services key allows external programmers to access Web services enabled on the Groove Data Bridge server. Distribute the key as needed using secure e-mail or other secure method of exchange. You can reset the Web services key at any time, from the main server window.

To change the Groove Data Bridge Web services key:
  1. Start the Groove Data Bridge administrative interface and select the server from the navigation pane.

  2. Click the Web Services Settings button ion the main server window. The Web Services Settings window appears, displaying the following information:

    • The date of the most recent key definition or change.

    • The Windows user name of the administrator who previously set the password.

  3. Click the Change Web Services Key button. The Change Web Services Key pop-up window appears, with text fields to reset the key.

  4. In the Web Services Key field, type a string of up to 256 characters.

  5. In the Confirm Web Services Key field, retype the string.

  6. Click OK to exit the pop-up window.

  7. Click OK to save the reset. The reset becomes effective at the next Web services restart (change from Offline to Online). If Web services are currently online, the server will automatically restart.
