To install a custom workflow for transporting records you use the means by which most functionality is deployed — Features and solutions. Features allow you to encapsulate new functionality and deploy it to sites across a Office SharePoint Server 2007 farm. Features are typically installed by using the stsadm command-line tool.

Use this procedure to install a custom workflow for transporting records.

Important

To run the stsadm command-line tool, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer.

Install a custom workflow for transporting records by using the Stsadm command-line tool

  1. On the drive on which SharePoint Products and Technologies is installed, change to the following directory: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft shared\Web server extensions\12\Bin.

  2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    stsadm -o installfeature –filename <path of the Feature.xml file relative to the 12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES folder >
