Applies To: Office SharePoint Server 2007

This Office product will reach end of support on October 10, 2017. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see , Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.

You can use document conversions to convert documents from one format to another. A document converter must be installed for each type of conversion that you want to perform. You can also schedule document conversions to take place automatically.

By default, the following document converters are installed:

  • InfoPath Form to Web Page (xml into html)

  • Word 2003 XML Document to Web Page

  • XML to Web Page

  • xml to emf

  • xml to png

  • xml to tif

  1. On the top link bar, click Application Management.

  2. In the External Service Connections section, click Document conversions.

  3. On the Configure Document Conversions page, on the Web Application menu in the Web Application section, click Change Web Application if the Web application for which you want to configure conversions is not selected.

    • On the Select Web Application page, select the Web application for which you want to configure document conversions.
  4. On the Configure Document Conversions page, under Enable document conversions for this site in the Enable Document Conversions section, select Yes.

  5. In the Load Balancer Server section, in the Load Balancer server box, select the server with which to associate the Web application. The server with the most available resources within the cluster will be used to convert documents.

  6. In the Conversion Schedule section, in the Process blocks of conversion section, select how often documents should be converted. You can schedule conversions either by the minute, the hour, or the day.

We recommend that you select times when the load-balancing server cluster is likely to have resources available.

  7. In the Converter Settings section, you can customize the converters by clicking the converter that you want to customize.

You can find more information about customizing converters in Configure a document converter (Office SharePoint Server).

  8. Click Apply if you want to apply the settings and then make further changes, or OK if you want to apply the settings and return to the Application Management page.

    Note

Turning off either the document conversions load balancer or the launcher stops the document conversion process.
