Schedule audience compilation (SharePoint Server 2010)

It is a good practice to compile audiences frequently so that audience membership can be kept up-to-date. You can schedule audience compilations to occur automatically by following the steps provided in this topic, or you can compile an audience immediately. Important

Audience compilation cannot run when profile synchronization is running.

Schedule audience compilation

Schedule audience compilation when you want to update an audience automatically at regular intervals.

To schedule an audience compilation by using Central Administration

  1. Verify that you have the following administrative credentials:

    • You are a member of the Farm Administrators group.
  2. On the Central Administration Web site, in the Application Management section, click Manage service applications.

  3. On the Service Applications page, in the list of service applications, click the row of the User Profile service application that you want to configure.

    Clicking the row activates options in the ribbon.

  4. In the Operations group of the ribbon, click Manage.

  5. On the Manage Profile Service page, in the People section, click Schedule Audience Compilation.

  6. On the Specify Compilation Schedule page, select the Enable scheduling check box.

  7. From the Start at list, select a start time.

  8. Select a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.

    • To compile audiences at the same time each day, select Every day.

    • To compile audiences at the same time once per week, select Every week on, and then select a day of the week

    • To compile audiences once a month, select Every month on this date, and then select a day of the month.

  9. Click OK.
