ISA Server 2004 Service Pack 2

Companies with branch offices distributed locally, across a continent, or around the world, want to ensure secure, safe, and efficient communication between those offices and corporate headquarters, as well as among the branch offices. Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 Service Pack 2 (SP2) is the Microsoft response to the need for companies to establish safe connectivity with branch offices, and to make communication more efficient, even where bandwidth is limited and latency is high. ISA Server 2004 SP2 provides several important features that enable this communication, which are described in the following sections. ISA Server 2004 SP2 also includes improved product documentation, with more information about topics that are of greatest interest to ISA Server users.

This service pack also includes several hotfixes and responses to customer requests. For example, the Cache Array Routing Protocol (CARP) mechanism has been updated and improved, and certificate management alerts have been added. For other important information about this release, read the release notes at the Microsoft Windows Server System Web site.

ISA Server 2004 SP2 hotfixes and features should be applied to Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition deployments.
