Topic Last Modified: 2008-03-19

The Exchange store (Store.exe) is the core data storage repository for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is the service that starts and stops the Store.exe process. In some troubleshooting scenarios, you may need to restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.

To perform this procedure, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Membership in the local Administrators group

For more information about permissions, delegating roles, and the rights that are required to administer Exchange Server 2007, see Permission Considerations.

  1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

  2. In Services, in the details pane, locate the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.

  3. Right-click the service, and then click Restart.
