Start the Administration Console in Safe Mode

To help troubleshoot an add-in that may be causing the Administration Console to stop responding, you can run the Administration Console in Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, all add-ins are disabled.

Note

Safe Mode for starting the Windows EBS Administration Console differs from the Safe Mode that you can use to start Windows Server®.

Note

You must use an account that is in the Domain Admins group to perform this procedure.

To start the Administration Console in Safe Mode

  1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Essential Business Server, and then click Windows Essential Business Server Administration Console.

  2. If an add-in previously caused the Administration Console to stop responding, the Add-in Alert Notification dialog box appears. The add-ins that may have caused the issue are listed.

  3. To start the Administration Console in Safe Mode, click Safe Mode.
