Choosing Administrator Passwords

To provide local administration rights on the Security Server, you need to provide a password for the default local administrator's account on that server. Because the Security Server is domain-connected, it is recommended that you choose a different password for the local administrator's account than the one you use for the domain administrator.

Your password choices should follow Windows Server 2008 recommendations for creating a strong password. A strong password has a length of at least eight characters and contains a combination of:

  • Upper case characters
  • Lower case characters
  • Numerals
  • Special characters
