Windows Essential Business Server Registration in DNS

Your servers that are running Windows EBS must be registered in DNS in order for Windows EBS to function correctly. If your servers are not registered with DNS, there may be errors on the network, or, more likely, your current DNS may not be integrated with Active Directory. The Installation Wizard verifies that the Management Server is registered in DNS. If it is not detected, you are prompted to manually add host resource records (also called "A-records") for the Management, Security, and Messaging servers to your existing DNS.

If you are currently running the Active Directory directory service with integrated DNS, check to ensure that dynamic updates are enabled. This option is turned on by default when DNS is integrated with Active Directory. You do not need to manually enter host resource records if integrated DNS is enabled. The Security and Messaging servers will register properly as they are installed.
