Installing Individual Components

The solution provides a complete environment for hosting, managing, monitoring, and provisioning the following services:

  • E-mail
  • Mobility
  • Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services
  • Unified Messaging services

In addition, the Deployment Walkthrough section provides for a comprehensive platform deployment.

However, there may be circumstances in which you only want to add a subset of the solution to your hosting portfolio. Perhaps you already have key hosting functionality that you want to retain. Because there is no requirement to deploy the complete set of solution services and infrastructure components, you can match optional and required solution components to the requirements of your proposed new services. The following table illustrates solution components that can be deployed to provide the individual solution services.

Note

Your specific infrastructure may require additional integration; the table is intended only as a guide for your consideration in planning additional hosted services.

Table: Example Component Service Dependencies

Hosted service Service dependency Infrastructure dependency Infrastructure option Comments
E-mail None
  • Service provisioning
  • Centralized management
  • Monitoring and reporting

Service provisioning is required for automation, configuration, and hardening; however, you may opt for a different provisioning solution.

The centralized management features of Active Directory directory service and DNS are hard requirements.

Mobility E-mail
