Enable Remote Assistance

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008

To enable Remote Assistance on a computer running Windows Vista

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • If Control Panel opens in Classic view, double-click System.

    • If Control Panel opens in Category view, click System and Maintenance, and then click System.

  3. In Tasks, click Remote settings.

  4. In Remote Assistance, click Advanced. The Remote Assistance Settings dialog box appears.

  5. Select Allow the computer to be controlled remotely, and then click OK twice to save your changes.

To enable Remote Assistance on a computer running Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System. The System Properties page appears.

  2. Click the Remote tab.

  3. In Remote Assistance, click Advanced. The Remote Assistance Settings dialog box appears.

  4. Select Allow the computer to be controlled remotely, and then click OK twice to save your changes.
