Entry Tier Architecture

The Entry Tier architecture is designed to support up to 5,000 users. It includes both dedicated servers, and servers running more than one role:

  • Two servers running Edge Services

  • Two servers running the Client Access, Hub Transport, and Unified Messaging server roles

  • One cluster continuous replication clusters (a total of two physical servers)

    Note

    Customers looking for a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) solution, or lower Service Level Agreement (SLA) solution could run two local continuous replication (LCR) servers instead.

  • Two Active Directory directory service Domain Controllers
