Services for Exchange Server that are not required cannot be disabled

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008

Problem   A service for Exchange Server cannot be disabled.

Features affected   A problem occurred when disabling the Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync service. Windows SBS 2008 does not require this service and disables it to conserve RAM and CPU resources.

Resolution   This fix is optional. You must manually disable the Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync service.

To disable the Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync service

  1. Click Start, and then, in the Search box, type services.msc.

  2. Double-click Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync.

  3. On the Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync Properties page, set Start type to Disabled. In the Services status section, click Stop to stop the service, and then click OK.
