Set an e-mail delivery schedule

To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the Domain Admins security group.

  1. Start the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard. To start the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard, click Start, and then click Server Management. In the console tree, click Internet and E-mail. In the details pane, click Connect to the Internet.
  2. Follow the wizard instructions until you reach the Internet E-mail page. At this point, ensure that Enable Internet e-mail is selected, and then click Next.
  3. Continue following the instructions until you reach the Mail Schedule page. For descriptions of the options, see Mail Schedule.
  4. Continue following the instructions to complete the wizard.

Note

To configure the e-mail delivery schedule, it is recommended that you use the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard. The wizard allows you to configure both the send and receive schedule for your SmallBusiness SMTP Connector and a receive schedule for the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes.

Note

The minimum time interval for downloading e-mail is 15 minutes.

For more information about configuring the schedule for a connector using the Exchange System Manager, search for "Install SMTP Connector" in Exchange server Help. To access Exchange server Help, click Start, click Server Management, and then press F1.
