Change the phone number used for a dial-up connection to the Internet

To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the Domain Admins security group.

You can change a dial-up number to the Internet by using the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard.

  1. Start the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard.
  2. On the Connection Type page, click Dial-up.
  3. On the Dial-up Connection page, click New. Follow the instructions to create a new dial-up connection using the new phone number.
  4. Follow the instructions to complete the wizard.

Notes

  • To open the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard, click Start, and then click Server Management. In the console tree, click Internet and E-mail. In the details pane, click Connect to the Internet.
  • You must run the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard at least once before attempting to modify the phone number for a dial-up connection to the Internet.
