New Subfolder

When importing files to a document library, you have the option of creating subfolders. You use subfolders in document libraries the same way you use subfolders in the Windows file system, except that in a document library, the path cannot be longer than 240 characters.

If you are creating a subfolder to store incoming faxes, it is recommended that you create it within a document library already used for this purpose, such as the Incoming Faxes document library. There, columns are preconfigured to store metadata about faxes, such as time received, number of pages, and telephone number.

If you create a fax subfolder within a different document library, these fax-specific columns will appear throughout the document library structure, including all other subfolders.
