Connect to the Internet

To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the Domain Admins security group.

  1. Start the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard.
  2. Follow the instructions to complete the wizard.

Notes

  • To start the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard, click Start and then click Server Management. In the console tree, click Internet and E-mail. In the details pane, click Connect to the Internet.
  • To configure network, firewall, secure Web site, and e-mail settings to connect your local network to the Internet, use the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard.
  • If the network configuration of your server becomes corrupted or changed in any way, you can reset the configuration by running the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard again.
  • Running the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard does not require the server to restart. However, users will experience a temporary loss of connectivity to the Internet while necessary services are restarted.
  • You can also use the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard script (Config.vbs) with its current settings to restore the configuration of the computer from which it was generated. For more information about the script file, see Related Topics.
