Using fax

Fax

Microsoft® Windows® Small Business Server 2003 enables you to send a fax from your computer.

From your computer, you can send a fax to one recipient or many, using three methods:

  • Using the Send Fax Wizard. The wizard guides you step by step through the process of faxing from your desktop. It also enables you to perform advanced fax tasks, such as scheduling, using cover pages, and receiving receipt notifications. You can also preview the fax before it is sent.
  • Printing a document. You can send a fax by printing a document to a fax printer instead of a typical printer. After you print the document to the fax printer, the Send Fax Wizard starts and you can specify fax options.
  • Sending an e-mail. You can send a fax as though it were an e-mail message. Open a new message in Microsoft Office Outlook®  2003 and enter a fax number or fax contact instead of, or in addition to, any e-mail recipients.

To manage your faxes and cover pages, use the Fax Console. This is available by double-clicking the fax printer in the Printers and Faxes folder on the Start menu. For more information, see Fax Help.
