Add or remove a POP3 mailbox

To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the Domain Admins security group.

You can add a POP3 mailbox to the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes to retrieve e-mail from one POP3 mailbox account and deliver it to one Exchange mailbox or distribution group through a user mailbox. You can also add a POP3 mailbox to deliver e-mail from a POP3 mailbox account to multiple Exchange mailboxes or distribution groups through a global mailbox.

  1. Open Server Management. To open Server Management, click Start, and then click Server Management.
  2. In the console tree, click Internet and E-mail.
  3. In the details pane, click Manage POP3 E-mail, and then click Open POP3 Connector Manager. The POP3 Connector Manager Properties dialog box appears.
  4. On the Mailboxes tab, click Add. The POP3 Mailbox dialog box appears.
  5. Complete the requested information. For descriptions of the options, see POP3 Mailbox (POP3 Connector Manager).

Note

To add a POP3 mailbox, you must have the user name, password, and the fully qualified host name of the e-mail server for the POP3 account. For more information, see POP3 Mailbox (POP3 Connector Manager).

Note

POP3 mailboxes can also be added or removed using the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard.
