Remove a virtual machine in Virtual Server

To remove a virtual machine

  1. Open the Administration Website.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • In the navigation pane, click Master Status, point to the appropriate virtual machine, and then click Remove.
    • In the navigation pane, under Virtual Machines, point to Configure and then click the virtual machine. Under Status, point to the virtual machine name, and then click Remove.
To perform this procedure, you must have the appropriate permissions. If you do not have the appropriate permissions, you will either receive an error message or you will not be able to view certain menu items and options described in this procedure. To change your permissions, contact your Virtual Server administrator. For more information, see Securing Virtual Server. For instructions on opening the Administration Website, see "Open the Administration Website" in Related Topics. Removing a virtual machine simply makes it unavailable to Virtual Server. The virtual machine configuration (.vmc) file and virtual hard disk (.vhd) files assigned to the virtual machine remain intact when you remove a virtual machine. For more information, see "Removing virtual machines" in Related Topics.
