Manage Internet and E-mail

Using the Manage Internet and E-mail taskpad, you can configure the Internet and remote access. You can also change passwords used to access your Internet service provider. For more information, see Change Passwords.

Task Description

Connect to the Internet

Starts the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard, enabling you to correctly configure settings for your network, firewall, secure Web site, and e-mail services that are used when connecting the computer running Windows Small Business ServerĀ 2003 to the Internet. Additionally, if the network configuration of your server becomes corrupted or changed in any way, you can restore the configuration simply by running the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard again.

Configure Remote Access

Starts the Remote Access Wizard, which configures remote access to the computer running Windows Small Business Server, using a dial-in connection or a virtual private network (VPN).

Create Remote Connection Disk

Starts the Create Remote Connection Disk Wizard, enabling you to copy files to a floppy disk for users to connect remotely to the network. Running the wizard only once, you can create multiple disks.

Synchronize E-mail

Sends all e-mail that is ready to be sent to the Internet and downloads e-mail from your Internet service provider immediately, regardless of the schedule.

Change Server IP Address

Enables you to change the IP address of the server's local network adapter and update all network services on the server to use this new address.

Change Broadband Connection Password

If you are using a broadband connection to the Internet that requires a user name and password, this enables you to change the broadband password used to access your Internet service provider.

Change Dial-up Connection Password

If you are using a dial-up connection to the Internet, this enables you to change the dial-up password used to access your Internet service provider.

Change E-mail Password

Enables you to change the password used to download e-mail from your Internet service provider. You must have an SMTP connector created by the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard to change this password.

Configure Phone and Modem Options

Enables you to configure phone options (such as dialing rules), install new modems, and modify modem settings.

Manage POP3 E-mail

Enables you to add and manage mailboxes and to configure the download schedule for POP3 mailboxes.

Manage Distribution Groups

Opens the Manage Distribution Groups taskpad.
