Internet E-mail
To configure Exchange to send e-mail to and receive e-mail from the Internet, click Enable Internet e-mail.

Enable Internet e-mail |
Click if you want Exchange to route Internet e-mail. The SmallBusiness Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) connector will be created to send e-mail from Exchange to the Internet.

Disable Internet e-mail |
Click if you do not want to use Exchange for Internet e-mail. You will not be able to receive POP3 e-mail or send Exchange e-mail. Note The SmallBusiness SMTP connector is deleted when you disable Internet e-mail and the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes service is disabled. Note Selecting this option does not interfere with using Exchange for internal e-mail between client computers. |

Click if you do not want to change your Internet e-mail configuration or if you have custom Exchange settings that you do not want overwritten. |
Advanced Options
To check the current settings of your Exchange connectors, click Start, and then click Server Management. In the console tree, double-click Advanced Management, double-click your Exchange server, and then double-click Connectors. In the details pane, right-click the connector, and then click Properties.
